About Alfakelly

Alfakelly Henriquez, M.S. Ed., FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. She earned her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from William Paterson University. She has a strong foundation in cardiovascular medicine, clinical research, and biomedical sciences. Her diverse clinical background includes advanced heart failure management, ventricular assist device (VAD) therapies, urgent care medicine, and comprehensive wound care.

In addition to her clinical practice, Alfakelly has extensive experience in clinical research. At Columbia University Irving Medical Center, she conducted research in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology, focusing on pediatric fatty liver disease. She also participated in cardiovascular clinical trials comparing anticoagulation therapies in patients with cardiac assist devices. Most recently, while serving on Montefiore Health System’s cardiothoracic surgery team, she contributed to published research on the management of driveline-associated infections in patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs).

As a Pain Management Nurse Practitioner at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall, Alfakelly is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. She looks forward to continuing her involvement in clinical research, with a focus on advancing innovative, long-term pain management strategies and improving patient outcomes.

Alfakelly is fluent in English and Spanish and is dedicated to combining clinical excellence with patient-focused care to help patients achieve their highest level of health and function.

When she is not caring for patients, Alfakelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is married and has one son. Her interests include traveling, watching beach sunsets, horseback riding, and exploring regenerative health and longevity medicine.
